At Arborology Inc, we are proud to be tree risk assessment qualified (TRAQ), meaning our team of ISA certified arborists have been trained and qualified to evaluate the potential hazards of trees and provide recommendations to mitigate the risk.
A tree risk assessment is a systematic process that involves evaluating a tree's structure, condition, and location to determine the potential for failure and the likelihood of causing injury or damage. There are three levels of tree risk assessments: Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.
Level 1:
A Level 1 tree risk assessment is a basic visual inspection of the tree. Our arborists will look for obvious signs of decay, structural defects, and damage, such as cracks, cavities, and dead branches. They will also assess the tree's crown, trunk, and roots for signs of health and stability. This level of assessment is usually conducted for routine inspections, such as for property management or regular maintenance.
Level 2:
A Level 2 tree risk assessment is a more detailed examination of the tree. It includes all the elements of a Level 1 assessment, but also includes more invasive techniques, such as probing and sounding, to determine the presence of decay, and the use of specialized tools to evaluate the tree's structure. This level of assessment is usually conducted when a tree has been identified as potentially hazardous or when a tree has undergone recent changes, such as storms or construction.
Level 3:
A Level 3 tree risk assessment is the most comprehensive level of assessment. It includes all the elements of a Level 2 assessment, but also includes more advanced techniques, such as drilling and coring, to determine the extent of decay and the tree's ability to support its own weight. This level of assessment is usually conducted when a tree has been identified as a severe risk and when the results of a Level 2 assessment are inconclusive.
After the assessment is complete, our arborists will provide a report detailing their findings and recommendations for mitigation. This may include pruning, cabling, bracing, or removal of the tree.
At Arborology Inc, we understand the importance of trees in our communities and the environment, and that's why we take tree risk assessment seriously. Our goal is to help property owners and managers identify and manage potential hazards while preserving the health and beauty of their trees.
